It is unlike any other experience. It is said that to fully appreciate nature it is essential to become part of its silence. Trekking gives the nature admirer such an opportunity, to feel the power and unparalleled beauty and sanctity of the majestic Himalayas.
Further we take care of our trekkers and make sure that their sojourn into the mountains is a memorable one. We provide a crew of specialized staff to assist you along the way. The crew will include at least one cook, one guide, a horsemen and horses, the number depending on the size of the trekking group. All the provisions and luggage are carried by the horses and porters.
However, if you are planning to go trekking in Bhutan you should be reasonably fit and bring along some basic trekking gear such as trekking shoes, water-proof clothes, ruck-sacks, etc.
The treks offered are graded according to their difficulty level. You can choose the trek of your choice from the list of trekking programme offered.
The Chelila Nature Trek is of medium difficulty. The trek through the primula and rhododendron trail is a very beautiful and pleasant one. The views are spectacular.
» Itinerary Details:
Day 01 : Kathmandu to Paro
Fly to Paro from Kathmandu. During flight one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks.
Day 02 : Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to the National Museum.Visit the Rinpung and Drugyal Dzong.Also visit Kyichu Monastery which is located between Drugyal Dzong and Paro town.
Day 03 : Paro to Chonana
Drive to Olathang and start trek. Along the trek you pass from some beautiful farmhouses.
Day 04 : Chonana to Jebkarpo
Today trek to Jebkarpo.The trial takes you through forest filled with primal, rhododendron and many other species of plants and trees.
Day 05 : Jebkarpo to Lower Mingula
Trek to Lower Mingula.The trial follows the ridge above the Haa valley.
Day 06 : Lower Mingula to Thong
Today is the day with excellent views of mountains and valleys. Enroute you can see lots of yaks.
Day 07 : Thong to Thimphu
After a short trek you will reach to Paro valley. The trek ends at Drugyal Dzong.Then drive to Paro and then drive to Thimphu.
Day 08 : Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast there will be full day sightseeing around Thimphu.Visit Tashichho Dzong, Handicrafts Emporium, Painting and woodcraft school, the Memorial Chorten National Library and Simtokha Dzong.
Day 09 : Thimphu to Punakha/Wangdiphodrang
Full days visit around Punakha, which is the former capital of Bhutan and Wangdi Phodrang.Visit the Dzongs, as well as other interesting sites.
Day 10 : Thimphu to Paro
After breakfast drive to Dechenchholing and visit the Palace of the Queen Mother and down valley view of Thimphu.Then drive to Paro.
Day 11 : Paro sightseeing
Drive to Taktsang Monastery.Taktsang is one of the most venerated pilgrim sites of Himalayan world.
Day 12 : Paro to Kathmandu Fly
Drive to the airport and then fly to Kathmandu.
Climate (General): Days are normally warm. Nights can at times be cold and in winter even below the freezing point. Monsoons shower in summer (heaviest July & August) and sometimes even in spring and autumn.
What to Bring:
Strong and comfortable trekking boots, sunglasses, a lot of spare vests and socks, headgear raincoat & warm clothing for the evenings.
Recommendations:
Moderate fitness is required. Few weeks training is advised.
