Day 1: Fly to Paro on Druck-Air.
You will be met at the airport and transferred to Thimpu (65 kms./2 hrs. Approx.). Overnight at hotel. Day 2: Full day sightseeing tour of Thimpu:
AM-visit Zeleukha Nunnery, National Library and Memorial Chorten of His Late Majesty Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk. PM-Stroll down town to the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays a variety of Bhutanese handicrafts. Day 3: Thimpu-Paro (65 kms. / 2hrs.)
AM-After breakfast drive leisurely to Paro.
PM- Drive through the Paro Valley to see the Drukgyel Dzong Kyichu Lhakhang. On a clear day, one can see the Majeatic Jhomolhari Mountain (better known as The Mountain of the Goddess) (7314m.) Also visit the National Museum Located in the Ta Dzong which displays a rich collection of the fine arts and weapons. Day 4: Drive to airport for your flight.
Day 1: Fly to Paro and drive to Thimpu (65 Kms./2 hrs.)
Drive to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Full day sightseeing in Thimpu
Am-visit the memorial Chortern of the Late King Jigme Dorje Wangchuk in the heart of Thimpu. The Tashichhodzong, The "Fortress of the Auspicious Religion." PM- Stroll downtown to the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays a variety of Bhutanese handicrafts. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Thimpu- Paro (65 Kms./ 2 hrs.)
AM- After breakfast drive leisurely to Paro. PM- Drive through the Paro Valley to see the Drukgyel Dzong/ Kyichu Lhakhang. On a clear day one can see the white domed majestic Jhomolhari Mountain (The Mountain of the Goddess) (7314 m.) Also visit the National Museum located in the Ta Dzong Which displays a rich collection of fine arts and weapons. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Paro: Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang.
AM- After breakfast drive to Sartsham Chorten and then two hours of horse riding to the Taktsang cafeteria. After refreshment, a short trek to
view the famous Taktsang Lhakhang (the "tigers nest"). PM- After lunch a slow downhil trek to Sartsham Chorten, then drive to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Drive to airport for your flight or overland trip out of Bhutan.
